Description
A truly exceptional piece of textile history.
This rare 17th century English embroidery panel, attributed to the Stuart period, features an elegant vertical “Tree of Life” design with scrolling vines, delicate florals, and fruit motifs stitched in beautifully muted tones of blue, green, cream, and soft gold.
The piece was professionally examined through photographs by respected UK textile specialist Hannah Whyman, who believed it to be consistent with the mid-1600s Stuart era, making this an extraordinary survival from over 350 years ago.
The long vertical format makes it especially striking. It works as both a historic textile and a statement artwork piece. The embroidery has been framed behind glass in a gilt frame, preserving its intricate handwork while making it ready to display.
What makes this piece so special is its rarity. Large surviving embroidery panels from this period are increasingly difficult to find, particularly in this elongated format with such strong decorative impact.
A remarkable acquisition for collectors of early textiles, English antiques, historic interiors, or anyone looking for a museum-worthy statement piece.
Dimensions: Approx. 175 cm x 28 cm framed
Origin: England
Period: Stuart Era, mid-17th century
Condition: Framed and well preserved for its age with expected signs of age-related wear consistent with a textile of this period.
A once-in-a-generation find, especially here in Kuwait.
