It was officially adopted as the United States Military bolt-action rifle on June 19th. 1903, and served in World War 1. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster firing, semi-automatic, 8 round M1 Garand, starting in 1937. However, the M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World war II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, the Korean War, and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War.

5 Stars - My Gentle Giant Loves It!

I got this toy for my German Shepherd, who is very gentle and loves soft plush toys. Even though he’s a big dog, he’s careful and enjoys playing gentle tug-of-war so the rope part as the string is perfect. The toy was a little smaller in length than I expected, but it hasn’t mattered at all — he absolutely loves it! It’s soft, thick, and has a squeaker deep inside that will make it hard for a dog to pull out. It is cute, and has held up well to a lot of carrying around and light tugging. If you have a gentle dog who loves plush toys, I definitely recommend this one. I would absolutely purchase it again! Fun little dog birthday gift.

Not for tough dogs who chew
