Rare vintage Koivutaru armchair designed by Esko Pajamies for Asko, Finland. This Scandinavian modern lounge chair features a sculptural laminated birch/bentwood frame, curved arms, canvas sling support, and a relaxed low seating profile.
We have reupholstered the cushions in a time-period appropriate neutral tweed, giving it a clean 1970s Scandinavian look. The original canvas and pressed wood frame show some bumps, bruises, and age-related wear, consistent with use and age.

Late 1970s design. One auction reference notes the Koivutaru was introduced at the Copenhagen Furniture Fair in 1977.
