Exam Choices:
- Exam A contains 170 questions that are NOT found in any of LEAP's books. This is the most challenging exam and is designed to be taken toward the end of your studies to assess your readiness for the real exam.
- Exam B contains 170 questions, mostly from the LEAP Comprehensive Study Guide. Purchase this exam if you do not have the LEAP study guide and want an additional practice exam. This is a great option if you need to gauge your knowledge level in the early stages of preparation.
Overview of Exams A and B:
- All questions are very similar to the actual licensing exam for your exam level
- You can take your exam timed or untimed
- Upon submission, you will receive a score and detailed answer rationale
- All exams are for individual use ONLY. Sharing is strictly prohibited.

How many questions are on the ASWB Associates exam?
Starting August 3, 2026, the ASWB Associates exam will consist of 122 questions — 110 scored questions and 12 pilot questions used to evaluate future exam content. Prior to August 3, 2026, the exam contains 170 questions.
What is LEAP's pass rate?
Since 2003, LEAP's pass rates have been independently tracked by a third-party company and consistently range from 92–95%, depending on exam level. LEAP is the only social work exam prep provider that uses an independent company to verify its pass rates.
How soon will I get access after purchasing?
You will receive an email with access instructions within 1 hour of purchase. Orders placed late at night or very early in the morning may take slightly longer.
How is the LEAP Associates practice exam different from the real ASWB exam?
LEAP practice exams are written by licensed social workers who have taken the ASWB exam and are designed to closely mirror the content, format, and difficulty of the real exam. Exam A contains questions not found in any LEAP book, making it the most realistic readiness assessment available.
Can I take the practice exam more than once?
Yes. Depending on your subscription, you may take the exam multiple times within your subscription period (up to 8 uses on the 4-month plan, up to 2 uses on the 1-month plan, or unlimited uses on the 3-month Exam A offer).
Is the LEAP Associates practice exam timed?
You can choose to take the exam timed or untimed. Upon completion, you will receive your score along with detailed rationale for every answer.
What is the best way to prepare for the ASWB Associates exam?
