Snapshot
Product Type: Compounded prescription-only peptide (naturally occurring tripeptide: Gly-His-Lys bound to divalent copper). Active Ingredient: GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1). Dosage Forms: Injectable solution: 10 mg/mL (standard compounded form). Classification: Naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, angiogenic, and tissue-regenerative properties. Intended Use:
• Tissue repair and anti-inflammatory support
• Dermal rejuvenation and collagen/elastin synthesis
• Hair-growth stimulation via follicular activation
• Systemic healing and recovery
•Anti-ageing and cellular health optimisation, Experimental support in cognitive decline and inflammatory conditions
Potential Benefits
- GHK-Cu is used systemically for its broad regenerative and restorative properties, including:
A. Skin & Connective Tissue Repair
• Promotes collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis
• Reverses age-related dermal thinning
• Improves elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles
• Enhances wound healing and tissue strength
B. Hair Follicle Activation
• Stimulates follicles into anagen (growth phase)
• Increases follicle size and prolongs growth cycle
• Supports restoration of hair colour
• Systemic and local administration are both used clinically
C. Anti-inflammatory & Antioxidant Activity
• Reduces inflammatory mediators
• Modulates oxidative stress
• Regulates expression of multiple genes involved in tissue protection and healing
D. Neuroprotection & Cognitive Support
• Studied in models of cognitive decline
How Does it Work?
GHK-Cu works by delivering bioavailable copper into cells, a key trace element involved in numerous enzymatic processes. Its mechanism involves:
• Stimulating production of extracellular matrix components such as collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans.
• Modulating gene expression related to inflammation, repair, and antioxidant defence.
• Encouraging blood vessel growth and improving tissue oxygenation.
• Promoting dermal remodelling and reducing scar tissue formation.
Dosage
• 2 mg (0.2 mL) per administration at a concentration of 10 mg/mL Daily use is acceptable; however, 2–3 doses per week is generally sufficient
Up to 12 weeks before needing a 4-week break
Content and Potency: 2.5ml vial of GHK-Cu contains 10mg/ml
Suggested Dosage: 0.2mL (20 marker on syringe) 3 x a week (Mon/ Wed/ Fri) into the subcutaneous tissue of the lower abdomen
Side Effects
- Up to 12 weeks, followed by a 4-week break. Long-term continuous use is not recommended until further research is available
- • Known hypersensitivity to GHK-Cu • Pregnancy and breastfeeding • Active or recent malignancy (due to angiogenic activity) Wilson’s disease or disorders of copper metabolism
- • Exercise caution in those with current or recent cancer because of the peptide’s angiogenic actions • Avoid use in pregnancy or breastfeeding • Theoretical risk of copper accumulation is weak, but avoid in known copper-storage diseases. No long-term safety data for continuous, year-round systemic use
- • No known drug interactions reported • Can be combined with other peptides and supplements • No known interactions affecting hepatic or renal metabolism No effect on common cardiovascular, metabolic, or neurological medications reported
- • Do not use in pregnancy, planned pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Insufficient safety data available
Local reactions:
• Redness • Swelling • Mild itchiness at the injection site. Systemic effects (generally mild & transient): • Nausea • Dizziness • Headache • Fatigue Allergic reactions:• Uncommon due to simple molecular structure. Serious adverse effects: None widely reported in clinical use; FDA highlights absence of large controlled trials rather than identified harm
• No published overdose data • Theoretical risk of nausea or dizziness at high doses
• Seek medical support or contact Poisons Centre if required
