Verschil 2-blads vs 3-blads: Standaard worden veel saildrives geleverd met een 2-blads schroef. Deze 3-blads variant biedt door het grotere bladoppervlak meer stuwkracht, wat voordelig is bij zwaardere boten of varen tegen stroom en wind in. Daarnaast zorgt de verdeling over drie bladen voor een betere balans, wat resulteert in minder trillingen in de aandrijflijn en een rustigere loop van de motor.
