Eva was a black Gotland cross ewe - shown in our flock logo. She has the distinction of producing a truly black yarn - most black sheep produce a very dark cocoa colored yarn. Of course as she aged her yarn became grey but it stayed much darker than the usual Gotland fleece for several years. Eva was one of our earliest flock members and produced many beautiful fleeces. The yarns have a very lively character due to the nature of Gotland fleece. We have an ombre knitted vest in our collection that was knitted from three different years of Eva's yarn showing the natural progression in color from black to dark grey.
