This Rhubarb formula is designed to purge the intestines in cases where there is hard, dry stools with fecal impactions. It is also useful as an adjunct to formulas that clear heat-toxins from the lower jiao for its action to help “flush out” the detritus from bacterial infections in the intestines, uterus, and ovaries (to include appendicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and ulcerative colitis).
The chief herb in this formula is rhubarb root (Da Huang). It is a strong purgative and its use is prohibited during pregnancy. This formula is meant to be used short term only to achieve the desired results (a few days to a week).

Standard Dosage: 4 pills, 2 x per day
Ingredients: Rheum palmatum root, Crataegus pinnatifida fruit-prep, Hordeum vulgare sprout-fried, Activated carbon, Botanical wax, Talcum. - Da huang, Jiao shan zha, Chao mai ya.
Contraindicated for very weak or deficient patients.
Contraindicated during pregnancy and menstruation. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Da huang/rhubarb can pass through the breast milk causing colic and diarrhea in infants.
May cause mild abdominal cramping in sensitive patients.
Use with caution in Spleen deficient patients with a tendency to loose stools, diarrhea, poor appetite or chronic digestive weakness.
