Construction - Stiff, MAX Core: Reshaped from the Optik 3 pads, Brians' Optik 4 goalie leg pads are built around their MAX core. Above the knee, Brians' MAX core offers their stiffest feel, formed with an aggressive precurve to project a wide, more squared butterfly that holds a rigid 5-hole seal. The stiff thigh of Brians' MAX core is balanced out with a soft, more flexible boot, designed to easily rotate down across an 87° toe taper.
- BRI-CORE Tri-axle Carbon-fiber Composite Reinforced Thigh Rise: Brians' MAX core is reinforced at the thigh with a highly rigid, ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber composite to ensure strong, long-lasting rebounds. Additionally, the Optik 4's BRI-CORE reinforcement allows for a thinner thigh rise and core construction without compromising strength, greatly improving pad mobility and overlap.

Inner & Outer Edges - Bindingless Edges w/ Primo-slide Inner: The Optik 4 leg pads highlight their thin profile and smooth on-ice feel with no outer edge or inner gusset bindings. Complementing their bindingless edges, Brian's Primo-Slide wraps the pads' entire inner edge for a unique balance between slide speed and traction.
- Thin, No-break Outer Roll: Signature to Brians' Optik pads, the Optik 4 pads feature a rigid outer roll that reinforces their stiff profile and allows for greater visibility when tracking in the puck.

Knee & Boot - Open Knee Cradle: Prioritizing pad rotation and butterfly mobility, the Optik 4 pads’ knee strapping runs from the knee stack down to the outer calf wrap. For those who prefer to strap behind-the-knee to a knee wing/flap, Brian's offers a knee wing/flap as a custom option.
- Primo-Slide Boot Lining w/ Internal Lift: Designed to help put the pads down faster, the Optik 4 leg pads' boot is built to sit higher off of the skates. In effect, this positions the pads to hit the ice quicker and reduces binding between the pad's boot and skates.

Strapping - Included Upper Calf Strap (Professor Strap): While optional on the Optik 3 pads, Brian's debuts an adjustable upper calf strapping, included with the Optik 4 leg pads.
- 3-point Adjustable Calf Wrap: Reshaped from the Optik 3, the Optik 4 leg pads' offer precision pad control with a streamlined inner calf-wrapping. Offering tension adjustment at 3 points across the calf, this calf wrap design allows goalies to fine-tune how the pads rotate and respond at the calves.
- Outer-to-Inner Calf Plate Strapping: To help stabilize the calves, the Optik 4 pads' calf plates are each backed with a plush outer calf wrapping that tightens across to its inner counter part. In effect, this allows the primo-wrapped calf plates to stay stable and snug while allowing the calves to rotate.
- Smart Cord Bungee Toe Ties: Included standard, Brian's Smart Cord bungee toe ties secure the pads while allowing the skates a greater range-of-motion, improving edge control and reducing lower body strain.

Good and thorough!

I was amazed to see a thick book arriving in the package and spent quite some time reading this. The book is so hands-on. I build agentic systems at work and going through these concepts felt good. My only complaint is that the code snippets are not up to date for which I had to edit my code several times.
