Toro — Grilled Chicken | 30g | Pure Grilled Chicken Soup Cat Treat

The warmth of grilled chicken. The Toro soup format. Nothing else needed. Toro Cat Treat Grilled Chicken is the pure poultry expression of the Toro range — real grilled chicken in a rich, warm chicken broth, in the soup format that cats respond to most enthusiastically. Where the Toro Tuna delivers the bold, assertive ocean flavor that seafood-loving cats crave, the Toro Grilled Chicken delivers the warm, caramelized, smoky depth of real grilled chicken — the protein that most cats have grown up with, elevated by the Maillard reaction's complex flavor compounds into something far more compelling than standard boiled or steamed chicken treats. Single protein. Single focus. The pure grilled chicken experience in the Toro soup format — for the cat who loves chicken above all else. 30g per pack — the daily treat for the poultry purist.

Why Toro Cat Treat Grilled Chicken Is The Best Choice

  • Pure Grilled Chicken — No Distractions — Single protein, single focus — the clean, warm, caramelized grilled chicken flavor in the Toro soup format, without competing ingredients.
  • Grilled, Not Boiled — The Maillard reaction creates hundreds of complex flavor compounds during grilling — producing a smoky, caramelized depth that standard boiled or steamed chicken treats simply cannot replicate.
  • Soup Format — The Toro Difference — Real grilled chicken in a rich chicken broth — the soup format that cats respond to most enthusiastically, delivering hydration alongside the warm, savory flavor cats love.
  • The Poultry Anchor of the Toro Range — The pure chicken counterpart to Toro Tuna — the entry point for chicken-preferring cats discovering the Toro brand for the first time.
  • Natural Taurine from Chicken — Chicken is a natural taurine source — the essential amino acid cats cannot synthesize, critical for heart function, vision, and reproductive health.
  • Lean, Complete Protein — Chicken provides all essential amino acids with high leucine content for muscle protein synthesis — lean, highly digestible, and nutritionally complete.
  • High Moisture Content — The chicken broth soup format delivers meaningful daily hydration — critical for cats who are chronically under-hydrated on dry food diets.
  • Ideal for Protein Rotation — Alternating between Toro Grilled Chicken and Toro Tuna provides daily protein variety — reducing the risk of single-protein sensitivity while maintaining the Toro soup format cats love.
  • Clean, Natural Formula — No grains, no artificial additives — pure grilled chicken and natural broth.
  • Premium Toro Quality — One of the most trusted premium cat treat brands in Asia.
  • Petfast.shop Exclusive — Available exclusively at petfast.shop.

Product Details & Features

Grilled Chicken — Why the Preparation Method Matters The distinction between grilled chicken and standard boiled or steamed chicken in cat treats is not merely a marketing claim — it is a genuine, measurable difference in flavor complexity and palatability:

The Maillard reaction: When chicken is exposed to the high, direct heat of grilling, the Maillard reaction occurs — a chemical process between amino acids and reducing sugars that creates hundreds of new flavor compounds. These compounds are responsible for the distinctive caramelized, smoky, savory character of grilled food — a flavor profile that is significantly more complex and appealing than the mild, neutral flavor of boiled or steamed chicken.

Caramelization: The natural sugars in chicken caramelize under high heat — adding a subtle sweetness and depth that enhances palatability and creates the characteristic golden-brown surface that cats find visually and aromatically appealing.

Volatile aromatic compounds: Grilling creates volatile aromatic compounds — including pyrazines, furans, and aldehydes — that are released as the chicken cooks. These compounds create the distinctive "grilled" aroma that cats detect from across the room — a more complex, compelling scent than the mild aroma of boiled chicken.

The result: Grilled chicken has a flavor profile that is warmer, richer, more complex, and more aromatic than any other chicken preparation — the reason grilled chicken treats consistently outperform boiled chicken treats in palatability, and the reason the Toro Grilled Chicken soup format produces such enthusiastic responses.

Pure Grilled Chicken vs. Grilled Chicken Formulas in the Toro Range The Toro range includes several grilled chicken formulas — each with a different secondary ingredient or functional addition. The pure Grilled Chicken formula is the baseline:

Product Primary Secondary/Addition Best For
Grilled Chicken (this product) Grilled chicken None — pure formula First-time Toro; chicken purists; sensitive cats
Grilled Chicken in Salmon Soup Grilled chicken Salmon broth Dual protein; Omega-3 addition
Grilled Chicken Plus Collagen Grilled chicken Collagen Joint & skin health
Grilled Chicken Topping Katsuobushi Grilled chicken Katsuobushi Maximum umami; selective eaters

The pure Grilled Chicken formula is the right choice when:

  • Introducing Toro to a chicken-preferring cat for the first time
  • Feeding a cat with food sensitivities who needs a single, clearly identified protein
  • Providing the clean chicken baseline in a Toro rotation alongside more complex formulas
  • The cat simply loves pure chicken and doesn't need the complexity of secondary ingredients

Natural Taurine — The Chicken Contribution Chicken is a natural taurine source — and while chicken's taurine content is lower than tuna or seafood, it provides a meaningful daily contribution:

  • Cats cannot synthesize taurine from other amino acids — they must obtain it entirely through diet
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM): Taurine deficiency weakens the heart muscle — potentially fatal
  • Central retinal degeneration: Taurine deficiency causes progressive, irreversible blindness

For cats whose primary diet includes chicken-based wet food or dry food, the Toro Grilled Chicken treat provides consistent daily taurine supplementation from a natural source in the protein they prefer.

Complete Protein — Muscle Support Chicken provides all essential amino acids with a nutritional profile particularly suited to lean muscle maintenance:

  • Leucine — The primary trigger for muscle protein synthesis — chicken is rich in leucine, making it the ideal protein for maintaining lean muscle mass in adult and senior cats
  • Isoleucine and valine — Branched-chain amino acids that support muscle energy metabolism and recovery
  • High digestibility — Whole muscle chicken is among the most digestible protein sources available — maximizing the proportion of each gram of protein that is absorbed and utilized

Chicken Broth — Warmth, Comfort & Hydration The chicken broth base of the Toro Grilled Chicken soup:

  • Amplifies the grilled chicken flavor — The warm broth carries the caramelized, smoky flavor compounds of the grilled chicken throughout the liquid — ensuring every sip delivers the full grilled chicken experience
  • Provides warmth — The warm, comforting character of chicken broth is one of the most universally appealing food experiences for cats — triggering the same comfort response as warm prey
  • Delivers hydration — The soup format provides meaningful moisture with every serving — supporting kidney health and urinary tract function
  • Contains natural collagen — Natural chicken broth contains collagen released from the chicken during cooking — providing a small but meaningful joint and skin support benefit

The Protein Rotation Strategy — Tuna & Grilled Chicken The two pure-protein Toro formulas — Tuna and Grilled Chicken — are natural rotation partners:

  • Tuna — Bold, assertive ocean flavor; maximum taurine; Omega-3 rich; seafood palatability
  • Grilled Chicken — Warm, caramelized poultry flavor; lean protein; leucine-rich; universal palatability

Alternating between the two provides:

  • Protein variety — Reducing the risk of developing a single-protein sensitivity through exclusive, repeated exposure
  • Nutritional complementarity — Tuna's Omega-3 and high taurine on seafood days; chicken's leucine and B vitamins on poultry days
  • Palatability variety — Different flavor profiles maintain the cat's interest and enthusiasm for the daily treat

Suggested rotation: Toro Tuna (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) + Toro Grilled Chicken (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) — with the more complex formulas (collagen, katsuobushi, scallop) used as occasional premium treats or for specific health support needs.

The cat didn't do it!
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I bought the book, because it looked so cute. Plus, I love cats! It was a cozy mystery with the cat as a constant companion of the protagonist. It made for a delightful story. I don't usually read low key mysteries, but I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, the cat, and the murder mystery. I plan on buying the next one. Ms. James has a writing style that you will enjoy her stories. You will not get bored.

When A Mystery Writer's Death Becomes The Mystery
Format: Kindle
Charlie Harris is a part-time archival librarian for Athena College in Athena, Mississippi. In his late forties, the father of two grown children, and a widower for three years, Charlie is the proud human owned by a Maine coon cat named Diesel. Still grieving the loss of his wife, Charlie is not yet interested in dating and keeps himself politely at an emotional distance from everyone except Diesel. Coming into Charlie’s life about two years ago as a bedraggled kitten wandering the library parking lot, Diesel seems to have two particular affinities. He seems to understand the human language well beyond the sound of his own name or the phrase “Here, kitty kitty.” And he seems to sense and differentiate between human emotions, particularly sadness and anger, even when not verbally expressed. Weighing nearly 35 pounds and not yet fully grown, Diesel proudly sports a harness and leash and goes just about everywhere with Charlie. He openly seeks attention from everyone he meets but he gives back just as much or more after he “determines” the type of attention the human needs at the time. For all that we know about Diesel, we know very little about Charlie other than what I have already mentioned. The author never physically describes Charlie, not height or hair color, not weight or eye color, not anything. Since every other character is described as he or she enters the storyline, the absence of same for Charlie seems to be deliberate on the part of the author. Thus, each reader can visualize our main protagonist in whatever form fits or feels right at the time. While Charlie has eschewed emotional attachments since the nearly concurrent deaths of his wife and his favorite aunt, he rents out rooms to college students. As our story opens, one of the boarders, 18-year-old Justin Wardlaw, experiences three traumatic events in one day. First, he meets his previously unknown biological father for the first time. Secondly, the man he thought was his father strikes him in the face when he refuses to quit college and move back home. And, finally, he discovers the body of his biological father murdered in his hotel room. Godfrey Priest, the murdered man, is a best-selling author of violent thrillers that have a severely misogynistic overtone. A contemporary of Charlie, he grew up in Athena with a well-deserved reputation as a physical and emotional bully. Needless to say, there are many people in town with long memories and hardened hearts as far as Godfrey Priest is concerned, making no dearth of possible suspects. Miranda James does not portray Charlie as a suspect who must work to clear his own name. Nor does she portray him as one of those meddlesome types who feels he can do better than any police detective in existence. What she does is portray Justin as a good kid who has just been handed a very raw deal and is in dire need of help and adult support. Since Charlie is a well-respected research and archival librarian trained to find answers to oblique questions, he decides to lend those skills to Justin’s cause. And then there is the police detective, Kanesha Berry. Detective Berry is smart and intuitive but she has the people skills of a rock and the professional personality of the rattlesnake hidden under that rock. She is also the daughter of Charlie’s longtime housekeeper, Azalea. When Azalea asks Charlie to use his skills to help her daughter succeed in spite of herself, Charlie finds himself in the position of unofficial private investigator. James has written a solid first entry for her Cat in the Stacks series. The search for the murderer twists and turns as past deeds surface and motives multiply. Since the book is written from Charlie’s first-person POV, the reader knows no more than Charlie does at any time. And since the author writes the detective as a recalcitrant soul, fighting for control and against civilian assistance, the reader gets no help whatsoever from that quarter toward interpreting the information that Charlie gleans. Charlie makes mistakes, both intuitive and legal. Unlike what happens in many cozies, our protagonist immediately accepts responsibility, takes his lumps and makes a concerted effort to correct his behavior. And, unlike the progression in many cozies, he doesn’t figure out the murderer’s identity before the detective does. This novel has no obvious hook leading to another book. Nor does it end in a cliffhanger. But the murder of Godfrey Priest, and his investigation into it on Justin and Azalea’s behalf, changes Charlie. And on that point lies the premise of another book.

Surprisingly Deep and Heartfelt
Format: Paperback
At first, when i started this book, i didn’t quite know how to feel about it. It’s pretty slow in the beginning, about 30 percent is just them being “hateful” towards each other while actively not trying to acknowledge the obvious physical and emotional chemistry between them. The more and more i flipped the pages, the more i fell in love!! Ryan is the epitome of the best book boyfriend you could imagine. He’s patient, kind and thoughtful. Although, at times, i thought he and Josie both were too judgmental of each other and what the other enjoyed to spend their free time reading. So what, he reads romance? And so what, she doesn’t read romance? But as we get deeper into their story, we realize they each had their own reasons for having their opinions. This story was surprisingly very insightful, loving and deep. Not too deep to where you’re contemplating your life choices, but deep in the sense that you will be thinking about these characters and their abilities to over come trauma and presumptions about themselves and their careers. With that being said, i think that Ryans employees, specifically indira, were way too judgmental. They saw for themselves how Ryan also treated Josie, and he typically was more rude to her than she was to him. Especially being women, reading romance and working at a romance store, they should know how it feels for people to be prejudice about a Genre they enjoy, and should be mindful and have told Ryan to be kinder. That being said…at times Josie was, i will say, a prude. Especially in the scene where ryan had her read “beach read” by Emily Henry Aloud and she texted RJ and said that women and men dont have intimate moments like that IRL. She was almost disgusted at the idea of having good, respectful and yet “mind blowing” s3x. I thought it was childish of her, honestly. You’re 30. Grow up. Georgia, her sister, was also too almoy judgmental of Josie and her trauma growing up with their mother. Especially for someone who was becoming a psychiatrist. She didn’t seem to take into account the things she dint see growing up, because Josie spent her time shielding her and protecting her from all the chaos. Other than that, that was the only few times this book pissed me off. All in all i’d give it a 4.5 out of ten!

More like bookstore baddies unite
Format: Kindle
If you are looking for a book with excellent banter, easy-to-love characters, and a romance that will completely charm you, put this one on your TBR immediately! 📚✨ Let’s talk about the character dynamics because they absolutely stole the show for me: 🛡️ The FMC: Josie Klein wears an emotional suit of armor and is a little rough around the edges when it comes to letting people in. If you love Ali Hazelwood’s FMCs, you will fully understand and adore Josie. Watching her walls come down was everything. 🐾 The MMC: Absolute GOLDEN RETRIEVER energy. He is a big softie with a heart of gold, but—and this is the crucial part—he isn’t afraid to put his foot down when it matters. The perfect balance. The banter between these two was top-tier, and the entire setting had me hooked from start to finish. It’s an absolute 10/10 for me!

Cute and predictable
Format: Kindle
Rom-com wrapped I’m a literary tote bag. The story was cute, predictable, but satisfying. Josie’s voice was cringy at times. Despite that, the characters are likable and everyone got their moment of closure. I’d give it one chile for spice.
