"Rarely has there been such a happy celebration of the joys and mysteries of trout fishing. The Red Setter works today but not tomorrow. A companion takes trout on every other cast, and, all circumstances ostensibly the same, you take none. Nothing is certain I trout fishing, says Arnold Gingrich, except 'its glorious uncertainty.' And the unending fascination of the sport. For the joys of trout fishing extend far beyond the fish itself - to the treasured equipment one uses, the traditions of the past, the refinement of techniques, the warm companionships with friend and fly and quarry. With deft art and urbane wit, the illustrious author of The Well-Tempered Angler again shares his angling partnerships with such famed fly fishermen as Lee Wulff, Charles Ritz, and A. J. McClane, and shares evocative yet practical reflections on time spent pondering which fly to use or book to read or where to get this or that item without which on angler would be nearly 'compleat.' 'An Angler's Best Companions,' the third section of this remarkable book, is a compendium of profiles, commentary, ingenious tips, and historical lore on subjects as diverse as Quick-grown Trout and conservation organizations and famous rod makers. In The Joys of Trout it becomes clear that fly fishing is really a way of life, disguised as a sport. There is a naked love of the fly-fisher's life here, a great fund of trout lore, and a haunting evocation of the trout state of mind. This is a rare book, sure to take its place among the few true classics of angling." With 16 pages of photographs.

The Illustrations are Sweet, Storyline… Great!
Format: Board book
This book is sturdy and has a wonderful message. My grandchildren love it! If you are the one who presents 2 children in a classroom or other setting, most children will really love this book. The durability of the book is great. The illustrations are sweet. The review platform does not allow for me to enter an age span. It does not allow for me to enter multiple ages. It seems to force you to Select one age. I would say that having raised children of my own, I would start reading this book by one years old, but the average child I guess would best benefit with between ages like two and four. The book could be read up to people who are like six years old if they just love a sweet bedtime story.
