These homeless dogs, plucked from the streets of Moscow, were selected because they fitted the program's criteria: weighing no more than 15 pounds, measuring no more than 14 inches in length, robust, photogenic and with a calm temperament. These characteristics enabled the dogs to withstand the extensive training that was needed to prepare them for suborbital, then for orbital, space fights. On 3 November 1957, the dog Laika was the first Earth-born creature to enter space, making her instantly famous around the world. She did not return. Her death, a few hours after launching, transformed her into a legendary symbol of sacrifice. Two further strays, Belka and Strelka, were the first beings to make it back from space, and were swiftly immortalized in children's books and cartoons. Images of the Space Dogs proliferated, reproduced on everyday goods across the Soviet Union: cigarette packets, tins of sweets, badges, stamps and postcards all bore their likenesses. Soviet Space Dogs uses these unique items to illustrate the story (in fact and fiction) of how they became fairytale idols. The first book to document these items, it contains more than 350 images, almost all of which are previously unpublished, and many of which have never been seen before outside Russia. Great for a bedroom and nice white noise sound!

Great value and power from a little purifier!! I’ve been using this for about a year and got one for my parents as well because it worried so well. I use it in my master bedroom and purchased originally for putting in front of an open window so it would serve as a fan pulling in air AND clean the allergens out of the air! We have allergies so the big fan in front of the window brings in tree and grass pollen and we’d cough all night and wake up with a sore throat. Now this purifier is on a short stool, sucks the air in, blows it up to the fan that we turn on sometimes when it gets real hot. On high setting it is like a fan on medium, and perfect white noise for sleeping. The filters aren’t expensive and I just subscribe and save every 6 months.

Solid purchase for everyday use.

Can’t really say to much about these. They have a strong magnet and are durable enough for everyday use. I use them to hang my compression leggings from normatec as well as other accessories. They work well and are at an affordable price. Hook size is ok. I feel like most items you would hang have no issue. Have not loaded them with to much weight but I’m sure they can hold a fair amount.
