The multi selector for fast selection of the auto focus point, is also controlled from the grip and the two lithium batteries that are used in the grip, give longer shooting time, by switching power from the used battery to the un-used one. The remaining battery power is shown on the LCD screen, so you can organise the rest of the shoot depending on the power available. The grip is dust and moisture resistant and its possible to charge the batteries in the grip without removing it from the camera, so just plug it into the wall using the USB port and leave it to get on with it.
