The Keel Silk Scarf draws inspiration from classic square silk scarves with bold striped edges. The original Keel scarf debuted as a square, offering a versatile, traditional shape. Later, we introduced a diamond-shaped version, which features a longer diagonal for added styling possibilities. The pattern includes both the square and the diamond shape.
The scarf is worked in the round from the outer edge towards the centre. To create a better overview of the many stitches at the beginning, you may choose to work on more than one circular needle at the beginning. Continue with the working yarn after casting on stitches for the outer edge using the scrap yarn and provisional cast-on. First, work a few rows back and forth in double knitting (Italian/tubular cast-on) for a narrow edge. Then, join to work in the round in the stocking stitch, decreasing at each of the four corners until the last few stitches are pulled together at the centre.
