Elevate your optical network and data networking performance with the HPE SFP Module. This high-quality SFP transceiver is designed for reliable, long‑reach Gigabit Ethernet over single‑mode fiber, delivering the stability and efficiency your enterprise requires. With 1000Base-LX technology, you can extend your network across campuses, data centers, and mission‑critical links while maintaining excellent signal integrity and low bit error rates. The module uses a standard LC duplex connector, enabling straightforward integration into a wide range of HPE switches, routers, and media converters for seamless optical connectivity.

  • High-speed Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber: The HPE SFP Module supports 1000Base-LX, providing up to 1 Gbps of data transfer over long‑distance single‑mode links with robust performance and low latency for core, distribution, and access networks.
  • LC duplex optical interface for flexible deployment: Featuring a 1 x LC connector, this SFP module is compatible with standard LC fiber patches, enabling clean, reliable fiber terminations and easy field upgrades in existing cabling infrastructures.
  • HPE compatibility and dependable operation: Engineered to integrate with Hewlett Packard Enterprise networking devices, the module delivers dependable performance within HP/HPE switches, routers, and related network equipment, reducing interoperability concerns and maintenance overhead.
  • Hot-swappable design for minimal downtime: The SFP module is designed for easy insertion and removal in active networks, allowing administrators to upgrade or replace transceivers without powering down critical equipment, lowering maintenance windows and service interruptions.

How to Install HPE SFP Module

Installing the HPE SFP Module is a straightforward process designed for minimal downtime and ease of maintenance. Follow these practical steps to ensure a successful deployment:

  • Prepare the installation by identifying an available SFP slot in your HPE device and confirming that the device is compatible with SFP modules.
  • Inspect the fiber backbone: ensure you have a high‑quality single‑mode LC duplex fiber patch cord or link cable that matches the transmitter and receiver requirements.
  • Power down the device only if your environment requires it; otherwise, proceed with a hot‑swap if your hardware supports it, following the device’s operator guide for hot‑swap procedures.
  • Insert the SFP Module into the SFP slot with the module’s notch aligned and firmly seat it until the mechanism latches securely in place.
  • Connect the LC duplex fiber optic cable to the SFP module’s LC connector, ensuring the transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) optics are correctly oriented for a clean, powered link.
  • Power on the device if you powered it down, then verify that the port recognizes the SFP module and that link LEDs indicate an active connection.
  • Configure the port as required for your network design, including speed, duplex settings, VLAN tagging, and any QoS or security policies, then monitor link health and performance over time.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is 1000Base-LX? 1000Base-LX is a Gigabit Ethernet standard that uses 1310 nm laser light to transmit data over single‑mode optical fiber, enabling longer link distances with high reliability and low latency.
  • What fiber type does this SFP use? It uses single‑mode optical fiber with an LC duplex connector, suitable for long‑haul links and high‑capacity networks.
  • Is this SFP module compatible with non‑HPE devices? The module is designed to integrate with Hewlett Packard Enterprise networking gear. While it may function in other devices that support industry‑standard SFP modules, compatibility is best verified against the vendor’s compatibility matrix or by testing in your specific hardware environment.
  • Is the HPE SFP Module hot‑swappable? Yes. SFP modules are typically hot‑swappable, allowing replacement or upgrades without powering down the host device in most environments. Always consult your device’s maintenance guidelines before performing a swap.
  • What wavelength does 1000Base-LX use? The standard wavelength for LX transceivers is 1310 nanometers, which supports long‑range transmission with efficient fiber performance over single‑mode links.

Great for training and play!
Size: Medium, Number of Items: 1
My German shepherd love this toy! Great to take on walks with you as light weight and can fit in your pocket. Stands up to the toughest of play. Great as reward toy for training in place of treats! We always have one on hand at home or out and about!

Great for big dogs
Size: Medium, Number of Items: 1
Our pup is now 15 months old (nearly 110 lb and still growing). We got this ball when he was 3 or 4 months old. GOODS - - Our pup fetches with extreme drive, and the rope helps him quickly snatch the ball off the ground (versus a tennis ball, in which we are worried he will go head over heels at times) - Our pup also loves to play fetch in the water, and this ball floats great and again, the rope gives another point to bite onto - The yellow color is easy to see, even in grass - Our pup typically fetches the ball, and leaves the rope mostly out of his mouth. So, throwing the ball doesn't result in saliva-covered hands - It's pretty easy to throw the ball 50', and possible to throw it 100' - It doesn't roll/bounce, so if you are for example playing fetch on your front lawn and are concerned with a tennis ball rolling into the street, this one alleviates that issue - Our pup is spoiled and has several balls. This is absolutely his go to ball. We have woken up in the morning before to see him standing next to the bed with the ball in his mouth, asking us to get up and play. BADS - - Occasionally when he goes to fetch it, he will step on the rope as he tries to pull up on the ball. - We have gotten this ball stuck in trees multiple times. In fact, there is one stuck on the roof of our church from playing fetch on the lawn there. :-/ Not a fault of the ball, but if you start whipping it around like nunchucks, it might not go where you want. - The near max you can through this ball is 100'. And since it doesn't roll/bounce, throw distance is throttled. We often play fetch in a local baseball field, and have no issue wearing him out with this ball. However, if you are planning on throwing a ball the distance of half a football field, you might want to consider something else. SIZE - - We purchased both the medium and the large. Even though our pup is huge and can fit a soccer ball in his mouth, he still prefers the medium. It's easier for him to get in his mouth and breath while running back. The medium is the size of an orange, whereas the large is the size of a grapefruit. DURABILITY - - We have gone through about 4 of these balls, BUT this is because we lost 3 of them. We believe he dropped one out of the car window while we were driving, one is on the roof of our church, and I forget about the other one. On the first one we had, the stitching behind the black tape was down to a few threads after about 5 months. Given duration we use these balls (every day) and the joy he gets from them, I feel the durability is good for the price. - We do play tug with the ball at times, and no issues there Enjoy!

Good but better options out there.
Good ball, but is a cheaper version of the Foamster sold online. The rope is cheap and comes apart, and can be abrasive to a dogs mouth. The Foamster uses a higher quality ball and are more durable and use grippy biothane straps rather than cheap rope. They are also made to order in the USA with lots of fun colors. Worth the extra money if your dog likes these balls.

Fun toy for fetch
Size: Medium, Number of Items: 1
Daisy loves this toy. I found it from her dog trainer, and it makes rewarding her with a quick tug of war and fetch really easy. Also it’s shockingly durable. It looks like foam, but she has not destroyed this one.

Heavy chewer approved.
Style: Ball, Size: Medium (Pack of 1)
My pomsky will destroy a toy in minutes. Ropes, and the "indestructible" nylon type stuffs are no match for my furry shark. This ball has stood up to him like David. He loves the crunch and it is so much more tolerable than a squeaker. These will be a staple in his toy box - Chuckit toys are really the most durable dog toys I have found in three years.
