Human/Mouse Total COX-2 ELISA Kit

Testing Principle：
This kit uses double antibody sandwich ELISA.Anti-human and mouse COX-2 monoclonal antibodies are coated on microplates. COX-2 in the sample and standard will bind to the antibody fixed on the plate and the free component will be washed away. Biotin-labeled anti-human and mouse COX-2 polyclonal antibodies were added to combine with COX-2 binding on microplates, and the free components were washed away. Then streptavidin-labeled horseradish peroxidase, which specifically identifies biotin, is added to form the complex. After the free components are washed away, the substrate solutionis added, the color of the solution gradually turns blue, and the stop solution is added to turn yellow and stop changing. The absorbance was measured with a microplate analyzer.

Background：

Cyclocythase (COX), also known as prostaglandin G/H synthase, is a membrane-binding enzyme that is partially responsible for the catalytic role of prostaglandin synthesis. Cox is represented by at least three different isotypes. COX-1 is expressed constitutively and is thought to modulate many "housekeeping" functions, such as vascular hemostasis, renal blood flow, and glomerular function. COX-2 expression is tightly regulated and induced by inflammatory mediators such as growth factors, cytokines, and endotoxins. COX-3 appears to be more rigorously regulated spatially, and is found in the highest concentrations in the cerebral cortex.
