The Pistachio Kid is hailed by critics and audiences as an idiosyncratic, creative musician and songwriter invoking the early work of Randy Newman, Bert Jansch, Van Dyke Parks, and The Sherman Brothers. The Pistachio Kid is the new musical project of Charlie McKeon, a talented and multi-instrumental singer-songwriter from Liverpool. An urban-Huckleberry Finn character whose music transcends genres, is other-worldly yet melodically familiar and evokes the spirit of endless summers, the exuberance of youth and that belief that everything and anything is possible. "I love music that's about playing together, like jazz or bluegrass, and I love music that's about composition and beauty, like Debussy. And then I love music that's about an individual personality like Dylan. I love people exploring what they sound like, it's all good." The recordings were written, entirely performed and recorded by Charlie McKeon in his hometown of Liverpool and represent his coming of age as artist. "People try to tailor your creativity before you've even done anything, you need to do it all first. The best advice is the opposite of that. John Fahey said 'Play what you like to play, don't worry about anyone else'. Imagine Dylan having singing lessons?! I wish I had written 'Suzanne' by Leonard Cohen or 'Happiness Is a Warm Gun' by John Lennon, or 'René and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War' by Paul Simon. They're all very individual and delicate and they move in cool motions."

Cute but…

I think this is really cute and a good weight. I expected it to be bigger but it’s about the size of squirrel. The product itself was packaged well and arrived with no damage and had some charge to it already that I was able to test it out right away. It has three small lights that light up a warm yellow but are strong enough to highlight the angel. It has a solar strip on the side of it. It’s a very pretty design but one of the first things I noticed was the angels head was dipped so low that I couldn’t see her face without picking up the statue and looking at it or squatting down to get eye level with it.it would have to be displayed on a higher area or an inclined area to get the full effect of its design. I think the price listed is high for the size and material of the product. I would pay $15-18 for this. If the design was larger and the head was lifted up a bit then I would pay the list price of $27.

Beautiful Angel Girl with Birds!!
Just buy it so seeet. I purchased 3 for Morhers day one for my Aunt, one for my sister, and one for myself. Love the pastel colored birds that add color during the day when not lit. Birds light pretty at night I love mine and keep it on a shelf in my screened in porch, so I can enjoy it daily!!!

Beautiful Solar Angel Garden Statue
I honestly teared up a little when I opened this because it’s even more beautiful in person than I expected from the listing. The angel design with the birds perched across the arms is peaceful and eye catching, and once it’s placed in the garden it really becomes a focal point. I positioned mine in a sunny spot and surrounded the base with a few decorative stones to help hold it in place since the statue itself is fairly lightweight. The solar feature works great, I’ve had it outside charging during the day and the birds automatically glow at night with a soft warm light that looks really pretty once the sun goes down. It gives off a calm, cozy glow that makes the yard feel really inviting in the evenings. The resin construction seems durable for outdoor use and overall the detail is really nice for the price point, though if you look very closely you can see a little bit of glue around the birds. Once it’s set up outside though, those little details fade away and the overall effect is just beautiful. Overall I’m really impressed with this piece and it’s a lovely addition to the garden.
