Black Truffle present the premier recordings of two recent works by legendary American experimental composer Alvin Lucier. Lucier has been crafting elegant explorations of the behavior of sound in physical space since the 1960s and is perhaps best known for his 1970 piece I Am Sitting In a Room (LCD 1013CD). He has written a remarkable catalog of instrumental works that focus on phenomena produced by the interference between closely tuned pitches, often using pure electronic tones produced by oscillators in combination with single instruments. Demonstrating the restless creative drive of an artist now in his 80s, the two recent works presented here both feature the electric guitar, an instrument Lucier has just recently begun to explore. In "Criss-Cross", Lucier's first composition for electric guitars, two guitarists using e-bows sweep slowly up and down a single semitone, beginning at opposite ends of the pitch range. The piece exemplifyies Lucier's desire not to "compose" in the conventional sense, but rather to eliminate everything that "distracts from the acoustical unfolding of the idea". In this immaculately controlled performance of "Criss-Cross" by Oren Ambarchi and Stephen O'Malley, for whom the piece was written in 2013, a seemingly simple idea creates a rich array of sonic effects - not simply beating patterns, which gradually slow down as the two tones reach unison and accelerate as they move further apart, but also the remarkable phenomenon of sound waves spinning in elliptical patterns through space between the two guitar amps. In the comparatively lush "Hanover", Lucier draws inspiration from the photograph on the cover, an image of the Dartmouth Jazz Band taken in 1918 featuring Lucier's father on violin. Using the instrumentation present in the photograph, Lucier creates an unearthly sound world of sliding tones from violin, alto and tenor saxophones, piano, vibraphone (bowed), and three electric guitars (which take the place of the banjos present in the photograph). Waves of slow glissandi create thick, complex beating patterns, gently punctuated by repeated single notes from the piano. The result is a piece that is simultaneously both unperturbably calm and constantly in motion. LP design by Stephen O'Malley; Includes inner sleeve with a portrait of Alvin Lucier by Kris Serafin. "Criss-Cross" recorded at Studios Ina GRM, Paris by Francois Bonnet and mixed by Alvin Lucier. "Hanover" recorded in Zurich and mixed by Alvin Lucier. Mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.

Great to take on a trip
Color: Black
We love to cruise and always take an extra backpack with us so we can load up on the travel booty and have a place to put it.
Works well as your "one plus" item on the airlines.
So the quality on this backpack is just fine. No issues at all. Nothing was falling apart or coming off. Very small when you fold it up which is great for packing in your suitcase. Holds a ton of stuff....
I'd do some shopping to make sure this fits your needs. There are a ton of backpack's in this price range and some appear to have more features.... Also looks... some are cooler looking, but that's just my opinion...even though I'm right...
This will do well for you as others will do too... You get a 30 day return policy with this so you could try it out first to see if you like it... if not, return it... nothing to loose...

Decent basic backpack
Color: Green
This is a good, basic backpack. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it's a solid choice. The sizing is average, it will hold several books and notebooks. The padding felt adequate for most items, but I'm not sure how much I would trust it with an expensive Mac book. The straps were easy to adjust and padded enough. I appreciate that it could be folded up and put into another bag if you needed an extra bag while traveling - it would make a good day pack. Overall a good deal for what it is.

Sturdy, attractive, comfortable, large capacity; lightweight, back strap to fit luggage
Color: Green, Color: Green
There are several good features for this BAGOK Lightweight Nylon Backpack, starting with the attractive green color that I chose. It is light weight and foldable yet has lots of pockets. The stitching is good, and the zippers work nicely. The back adjustable straps have padding and netting for cooling. There is also a handle on top for carrying and a backstrap to fit over luggage. On the front, there are two zippered compartments. The small one at the top could hold a wallet or passport or tickets. The larger front pocket is roomy with the zipper under an overhanging fabric. Inside is lined with black nylon. The frontmost large compartment extends the length and width of the backpack. The larger main compartment is at the back and has padding to safely store a laptop, e reader or other electronics. There are two nylon pockets inside the main compartment on one side.
There are two outer side pockets. I was able to fit a water bottle in them when the inside was empty. However, if the entire backpack is filled, I don't think a water bottle will fit. One drawback is the side pockets are not elasticized--they don't stretch. I will use this for day trips and travel. It is too large to be a personal item on airlines, but it could be a carryon. You can get a lot of things in it. The nylon material is sturdy and should stand up to wear. I am short, 5'2" female and I could adjust the straps to be comfortable for me. And it does fold up for storage between uses. This could also withstand daily use for hiking, work or school

Finally found the perfect backpack!
Color: Apricot, Size: 17.3 Inch
I’ve been searching for a backpack that could fit my 16-inch laptop and my other uni stuff since i commute, without looking huge on me, I’m a small girl, so most big backpacks just look bulky and awkward. I wanted something slim and sleek, not one of those backpacks that stick out and have that “belly” shape.
After a lot of searching, I finally found this one, and I absolutely love it! The material feels really high quality, and the design is just perfect. I got the 17-inch size, and it fits my 16-inch laptop comfortably.
There are so many pockets for organization, plus a separate padded compartment just for the laptop, which I really appreciate. It also has a handle that easily slides over my suitcase handle, which is so convenient for traveling (I travel a lot, so this feature was a must).
It’s comfortable to wear, the straps are adjustable, there are bottle holders on both sides, and overall it just looks clean and stylish. i got the beige color one. which i love.
I’m really happy with this purchase it has everything I was looking for. I’ll attach a short video showing all the pockets and features because it honestly deserves it!
