Fuding and the surroundings are one of the main producing areas of white tea. The region is know with the beautiful mountains and many streams with fresh mountain water.
First records of tea cultivation in the area date back (733-804 AD) in the book of Lu Ji, Chinese tea master and writer. Best known with his book "Ch'a Ching" ( The classic of tea) focusing entirely on cultivation, processing and enjoying tea.
