Maher Shalal Hash Baz's Je Est Un Autre is not a "best of", it is a reflection of Tori Kudo's evolution as a composer, from playing with seasoned musicians, to playing with people just starting out, from playing meticulous scores, to playing call and response melodies written down, to the songs presented here. These are instant improvisations based on keyboard compositions that Tori plays for the group. Yes, that is it. He plays a recording of himself on the keyboard, with singing or humming sometimes and he leaves it to the "big band" to interpret this on the spot. Sometimes, one can make out the melody, other times it is quite obscure, as if a sort of common shyness flows out of the collected instruments assembled. And other times, well, it is a big party. Kudo and the group were invited to tour Europe to celebrate 20 years of the project Le Ton Mité, members of which are absorbed into the ensemble. The recording evolves from the static sound of hermetic conditions to a live concert in the later tracks. The studio here, a trendy concert hall in Brussels. One can hear the applause of the brave ears that weathered the ride of accidental psychedelia and the moiré of various notes fading into and out of each other. This is only a sliver of the material from the 20-hour recording marathon documenting the new composing/playing style of Kudo, as well as snippets from the last concert of the March 2018 tour. Perhaps the album should be called Je Est Un Autre: Volume One in a vague reference to the My Brother The Wind series from Sun Ra. In any case, here are four sides of ten inch vinyl to take the listener on a journey into Maher: Je Est Un Autre

WARNING - EXTREMELY SHARP AREAS

UPDATE: The 2nd one I ordered was exactly the same with the sharp parts in the same areas as the first one. I cannot stress enough that a few points are sharp enough to cut or badly scratch. So if you’re planning on putting some food on it so your pup can lick, this is not the product you want! This could still scratch or cut the gums if used as a chew toy too though. I was thinking about sanding the sharp points but then I have no idea if that exposes any chemicals somehow? Really wanted this to work out!
I took this corn on the cob toy out of the plastic to wash it and before I even got to the sink I realized there were several areas that are super sharp. A few sharp enough that could cut or badly scratch! It was sealed in a plastic bag and shows no signs of being used so this defect must happen at the manufactures level. I added a video showing how easily it snags a cotton ball, cotton pad and even a beanie. Please thoroughly check your item before giving it to your pup! I was so excited to put some smashed banana on this thing and give it to my guy and thank god I checked it first! I’m going to return it and see if a 2nd one is any better and I’ll update if it is or isn’t. Also, the super sharp spots were very hard to photograph which is why I added the video.

good purchase

This thing is great for hi anxiety dogs and dogs that ned to have something to do or to chew. It will take them a while to get through to it. I was told that it was indestructible but I knew if there was a dog that could do it, it would be mine, and she did. But it took her some time. But she loves it and it keeps her busy.

Cute and durable!

My dog absolutely loves this toy! I'm not sure why people are complaining it's too hard, it's a nylon dog chew toy, it's supposed to be hard. I love the little holes in the lattice top I can stuff with treats. It keeps my very (VERY) active dog busy for a long time. I would definitely recommend this if you have a power chewer. It's also super cute, I just love to see him tote around a piece of pie.

Lasted a few months
This is our last picture of the rooster, as he is being set to the trash today, because new rooster is on its way!! Yes, your dog will rip the face off and pull some stuffing out quickly. Let him. I was amazed this tore up toy lasted so long. If your dog likes to dig out the squeakers, this is the perfect one of the Go Dog toys, because it has SEVEN squeakers inside, whereas the duck only has one squeaker. Bella (in the pic) is the epic chewer, and this was a good toy for her. It took her a few months to get all the squeakers out. She loves her rooster. She sleeps with it and is very attached to it. It is worth the investment.
