Prep for adventure with a set of AltRider Cylinder Head Guards for the AltRider BMW R 1250 GS /GSA Crash Bars. The AltRider Cylinder Head Guards are designed to protect your cylinder head from the scrapes and scratches that riding off-road often causes. Designed to compliment the OEM crash bar aesthetic while providing protection where the crash bars alone do not, the cylinder head guard's uniquely domed contours match and truly protect the magnesium VVT valve cover profile on your R 1250 GS.

The AltRider Cylinder Head Guards are made from lightweight formed 5052 aluminum with a stylish grain finish, featuring domed contours and embossed AltRider logos. The cylinder head guards feature a difficult to manufacture but easy to install snap-fit hem design with sturdy 304 stainless steel custom cast clamps. The formed hem, in conjunction with the AltRider cast stainless steel clamp, ensures a secure fit and prevents the guards from ripping off as is possible with other designs. Available in a brushed raw silver or textured powder coat black finish.

Old school denim — not stretchy

Fabric used is old school denim — not the thin, stretchy stuff that pretty much everything called “denim” is today. It is 99% cotton (20% of which is recycled cotton) and 1% elastane, but I can’t feel any stretch in the fabric. It is a substantial, non-stretchy denim that gives the jacket really good structure. It has a higher end fit and look than the price would suggest. I wanted a more fitted denim jacket so ordered an XS even though according to the size chart I need a small. (I have a 34.5” bust, 28” waist at 118 pounds 5’4”.) It still buttons over a t shirt or lightweight sweater with freedom for movement/without being tight, but if I wanted a roomy fit or the ability to wear a heavier sweater or sweatshirt underneath and still be able to comfortably button it I would have needed a small. The shoulders are cut broad — I have very broad shoulders and the XS surprisingly fits my shoulders well. This jacket may not be the greatest fit for you if you have very narrow shoulders, unless you are going for an oversized look.
