artist biography
Carl Erik Lindberg was born 5 February, 1917 in Lönsboda , Kristianstad. He was a Swedish painter and draftsman.
Lindberg was self-taught as an artist and took independent study trips around Scandinavia studying works in museums and galleries. Select shows he exhibited in include He participated in the HSB-utställningarna exhibition ‘God konst i alla hem’ (Good Art in the Home) at Liljevalch's art gallery, and ‘4 målare och 1 skulptör’ (4 Painters and 1 Sculptor) at Ekströms konsthandel in Stockholm. He was best known for his silhouette figure studies, interiors and landscape paintings often with an abstract style.
He passed away at the age of 83 on 12 March, 2000.
