The original tribes included the Navajo, Ute, Comanch, Pueblos, Zuni, Chiricahua and Membreno Apache, the Jocome Jano Suma, Mescalero Apache and the Jicarilla Apache. Other tribes moved through the area but these are known as the original inhabitants.
