ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

MILLÁS IN A STATE OF GRACE. A STORY OF FRIENDSHIP ON THE VERGE OF REALITY.

"Juan José Millás owns a fantasy territory of unquestionable personality." --J. Ernesto Ayala-Dip, El País

"Coming full circle, another full circle. That was the whole point, wasn't it? Coming full circle."

A writer who, strangely enough, answers to the name Juan José Millás, gets an assignment by the newspaper he collaborates with to write what he thinks could be his final story. Therefore, he must consider his subject carefully to end his career on a high note. His quest for the perfect story awakens inside him the memory of a past episode, clouded by the mist between reality and the imaginary, which makes him face a part of his life forgotten over the years. What happened to the director of the Hispanic American Bank branch he visited with his mother one morning, as a child? And what happened to his friend from college, Alberto?

In this fun and, at the same time, profound story, Juan José Millás addresses the mystique of identity, the limits of fiction, and literature's power to shape reality. That Imbecile Is Going to Write a Novel constitutes a somersault by Millás as a narrator, playing with his readers as if he were an illusionist, a mage of words, a dazzling conjurer.

Very Important Message for All of Us
Format: Hardcover
Absolutely delightful, oftentimes comical look at what is a very serious situation, collection of memorable metaphors of a memoir. A real page turner. I highly recommend it. There is a subtle recognition of a spiritual nature that we are all born with. Only some of us have the courage to live out the compelling spiritual direction that we come into the world with. Thank you Kyle.

Parents beware!
Format: Hardcover
This books is about a trans child running away from home and it basically teaches children how to do it. Nearly a step by step example. Then at the end of the book the author offers “resources” and advice. The first advice the author gives is “this book itself is the advice” (meaning: run away from home) and then the author lists ways a child can get around their parents. Even telling children that if they have parental control features on their phones preventing them from looking up stuff (assuming “resources” to run away) that they can go to the library, even suggesting they ride their bike to the library so their parents don’t know, to look up “resources” at the library. My daughter was somewhat disturbed by this book. She said: “I feel like it’s trying to brainwash me into hating you! I had to remind myself of who I am like every chapter. I’m afraid for kids who don’t know better.” Parents beware!

Nasty
Format: Hardcover
Terrible blaming parent for trying to protect their child. She is committing a great moral evil. Shame on Dial Books for Young Readers for greenlighting a book with such a false, evil, and vindictive premise.

ONE did it again!
Format: Paperback
Fantastic start to a new series. I honestly never expected for him to come up with another interesting idea, I thought this would be another one punch man or mob situation of the overpowered MC. And without spoiling anything, it’s not that. Everything to the art work and the characters is amazing. Go PICK IT UP!
