MSM nodig voor leven op aarde
Het belang van MSM voor het leven op aarde is groot. Zonder MSM zou het leven op aarde zoals we dat nu kennen niet bestaan. MSM wordt in de natuur gevormd als onderdeel van de aardse zwavelcyclus: algen en plantaardig plankton in de oceanen nemen massaal anorganisch zwavel op uit het zeewater en zetten het om in eenvoudige organische vorm. Wanneer algen en plankton sterven, zorgen enzymen ervoor dat de organische zwavelverbindingen worden afgebroken tot dimethylsulfide (DMS). Deze stof is vluchtig en lost niet goed op in water. Het verzamelt zich daarom hoog in de atmosfeer, waar het onder invloed van ultraviolet licht en ozon wordt omgezet in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) en verder in methylsulfonylmethaan (MSM). DMSO en MSM zijn goed oplosbaar in water. Ze vormen de condensatiekernen die nodig zijn voor de vorming van regendruppels. Zonder DMSO en MSM in de lucht ontstaan er geen wolken en gaat het niet regenen. Wortels van bomen en planten zijn in staat om DMSO en MSM snel en efficiënt op te nemen uit regenwater.
Productiemethode
Hoewel MSM een natuurlijke stof is, zou het ondoenlijk zijn MSM op natuurlijke wijze te winnen. Er zouden zoveel bomen gekapt moeten worden, dat zou niet wenselijk zijn. De grondstoffen die nu gebruikt worden zijn DMSO, water en waterstofperoxide. Via een ingewikkeld proces wordt DMSO vervolgens omgezet in MSM. Het is hierbij van groot belang dat de toegepaste productiemethode tot een zuiver eindproduct leidt. En dat blijkt bij de productie van MSM helaas niet vanzelfsprekend te zijn. De dure distillatiemethode, die eventuele verontreinigingen die voor kunnen komen in de grondstoffen effectief verwijdert, heeft in dit opzicht de absolute voorkeur boven de vaak toegepaste (veel goedkopere) kristallisatiemethode.

Ingredienten

Cup holder friendly AND functional!

I have a dupe of this cup in a 32oz version and I’m in love with it except for one thing, it doesn’t fit in the cup holders of my vehicles very well. For Father’s Day, my husband needed an insulated cup for when he works outside, his current one doesn’t fit in a cup holder. This was a perfect option for him since he likes the one I have. First things first: this thing keeps liquids COLD for a VERY long time. Haven’t put anything hot into it and don’t plan to so I cannot attest to that. It’s lightweight, durable, and the versatility with the straw is really what makes this cup stand out. You can use a straw OR take a sip without changing adaptors or adding a straw. The straw is basically built into the spout. It’s leakproof which I greatly appreciate. With this being on sale I jumped on it. These are such nice cups, and I can confirm they fit the cup holders of my vehicles from my 22 RAV4 to my 05 Corolla. This is a definite buy and I really hope my husband gets me one since my dupe doesn’t fit in my cup holders. As for the 24oz of this cup, it fits. The colors are fun. It’s unique, and extremely functional.

There are a lot of stainless steel bottles out there but the quality of Owala stands out by far. Starting with the both drink options of sip or chug, mega cute color combinations, ergonomic grip, cold retention is great and different size to fit everyone of your family's thirst. Easy to carry it with its handle. It's almost a month that I've been using it and no spills on my backpack. Defo buying more on the future, just to change the color with the Seasons. Rubber Boot is not included but make sure to add it to your cart...is soooo worth it!

Great Water Bottle but failed after one year.

I purchased this Owala water bottle a little over a year ago and it was in my top favorites. The flip-up lid is a great feature, and I like that you can use it with or without the straw. It’s completely leak-proof, comfortable to carry, and has held up well with daily use. My only complaint had been that it doesn’t fit in most standard cup holders.
But after about a year, I did notice that it stopped keeping my water cold as long as it used to, and the ice began melting much faster. I reached out to Owala customer service but unfortunately never received a response.
Even with that issue, I still prefer the lid design over brands like Yeti or RTIC, so I would consider purchasing another Owala in the future. If you value a convenient, leak-proof lid design, it’s definitely worth considering. I just sincerely hope the insulation lasts longer on the next one.
