Tegel van Makkum Tichelaar uit de jaren 1960 met een handgeschilderde voorstelling van een poetsvrouw. Het ontwerp maakt deel uit van de serie ‘Tegelberoepen’, waarin alledaagse beroepen herkenbaar zijn afgebeeld.

De tegel is van keramiek en beschilderd in heldere tinten. Herkomst: Makkum, Nederland. De conditie is uitstekend, met lichte sporen passend bij de leeftijd.

Makkum Tichelaar is een Friese aardewerkfabriek die sinds de 16e eeuw actief is. Het bedrijf werkte lange tijd voor kerken, scheepvaart en woningdecoratie en maakte later ook tegels en servies voor particuliere opdrachtgevers.
