A wonderful Victorian ring, combining the striking beauty of banded agate with the timeless feel of a signet ring. Created in rich 15 carat gold, the ring is formed with an elegant flowing mount that perfectly complements the shield shaped stone. 

At the centre is a superb shield shaped banded agate intaglio. The agate displays particularly pronounced monochrome striping, with dramatic bands of black, grey, and white flowing naturally through the stone. These bold markings create a striking visual effect, ensuring that no two examples could ever be quite the same.

The surface has been engraved with the initials 'ASW' or possibly 'AW', transforming the ring into a deeply personal object. The contrast between the crisp carving, graphic banding of the agate, and warm gold mount is especially charming. There is a timeless quality to the design that feels every bit as relevant today as it did over a century ago.
